Barron’s 2018 “Top 1,200 Financial Advisors” Honors Six Financial Advisors from Janney


PHILADELPHIA, PA – March 12, 2018 – Janney Montgomery Scott LLC (“Janney”), a leading full-service wealth management, financial services, and investment banking firm headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, is pleased to announce that six of the Firm’s Financial Advisors have been honored by Barron’s in its 2018 list of “Top 1,200 Financial Advisors.” The advisors named from Janney include Edward S. Blumenthal of Philadelphia, PA; Mark R. Eskin of Philadelphia, PA; Joseph P Hassett Jr. of Providence, RI; Charles J. Noble, III of New Haven, CT; Peter H. Sargent of Newtown, PA; and Allan H. Strange of Richmond, VA.

Barron’s annual “Top 1,200 Financial Advisors” list is a ranking of America’s best financial advisors, organized by state. The nominees for the list are ranked based on data provided by over 4,000 of the nation's most productive advisors. They are evaluated based on factors such as assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice, and philanthropic work. Out of thousands of nominees, the 1,200 recipients of the award represent approximately less than one-half percent of all advisors in the industry.

Ed Blumenthal serves as Executive Vice President/Wealth Management and is a senior partner of Stedmark Partners at Janney Montgomery Scott. An Accredited Wealth Management Advisorˢᵐ, this is the sixth consecutive year that Blumenthal has been named a Barron’s “Top Advisor,” an honor he has received since 2013. He was also recognized by Forbes as a Best-in-State Wealth Advisor in 2018, and among the “Top 400 Financial Advisors” by Financial Times in 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017. Mark R. Eskin, Philadelphia, PA – Ranked #22 in Pennsylvania

Mark Eskin serves as Executive Vice President/Wealth Management and is a senior partner of Stedmark Partners at Janney Montgomery Scott. An Accredited Wealth Management Advisorˢᵐ, Eskin is consistently ranked as a “Top Advisor” by Barron’s, an honor he received in 2010 and from 2012 through 2018. His other accolades include recognition as a Best-in-State Wealth Advisor by Forbes in 2018 and being among the “Top 400 Financial Advisors” by Financial Times in 2013. The Philadelphia Business Journal also recognized Eskin, along with his team, as a “Top Financial Advisor in Greater Philadelphia” in 2010.

Eskin is an active member of the Board of Trustees of Abington-Jefferson Health and the Madlyn & Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life in Horsham, PA, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Federation Endowments Corporation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. Joseph P. Hassett, Jr., Providence, RI – Ranked #5 in Rhode Island

Joe Hassett, who’s financial career spans over 30, serves as Executive Vice President/Wealth Management of Hassett Wealth Management of Janney Montgomery Scott. His financial expertise afforded him membership at the Firm’s highest Club level status of CEO Roundtable. This is the third time that he has been named to the “Top Advisor" lists compiled by Barron’s, which previously included him in the 2014 and 2017 rankings. Hassett is active on the Rhode Island Foundation Advisory Board and the Providence College President’s Council. He is a graduate of LaSalle Academy High School and Providence College. An athlete, he is a member of the Providence College Hall of Fame, LaSalle Academy Hall of Fame, Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame, and New England Basketball Hall of Fame. He holds a Gold medal as a member of the basketball team at the 1975 Pan America Games. He also won an NBA World Championship with the 1979 Seattle Supersonics.

Charles J. Noble, III, New Haven, CT - Ranked #11 in Connecticut

Charles J. Noble, III serves as Executive Vice President/Wealth Management of Noble Wealth Advisors of Janney Montgomery Scott and Branch Manager of the Firm’s Downtown New Haven, Connecticut office. His financial career spans over 30 years. This is the fifth consecutive year that Noble has been named a Top Advisor by Barron’s, which previously ranked him among the top advisors in Connecticut from 2014 through 2017. He was also named among the “Top 400 Financial Advisors” by Financial Times in 2013, 2014, and 2017 and was honored as Janney’s “Financial Advisor of the Year” in 2012.

Peter H. Sargent, Raleigh, NC & Newtown, PA – Ranked #38 in Pennsylvania

Peter Sargent is an Executive Vice President/Wealth Management and the founder of Sargent Wealth Management of Janney Montgomery Scott, with offices in Newtown, PA and Raleigh, NC. Sargent has over 25 years of industry experience and holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and Certified Financial Planner® certification. This is the fifth time that he has been selected as a Barron’s “Top Advisor,” with previous recognition on the 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2017 lists. Allan H. Strange, Richmond, VA – Ranked #19 in Virginia

Allan Strange, Executive Vice President/Wealth Management, leads the Strange Group at Janney Montgomery Scott. He has been advising clients on their investments for nearly 40 years. An Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, he has been a member of Janney’s premier CEO Roundtable since joining the Firm in 2009.
