Branch Spotlight: Stuart, FL

Janney’s Stuart, Florida branch is focused on driving business through hosting engaging client appreciation events and being involved in their local community. Stuart is a sunny, small, tight-knit community of nearly 17,000 people, where Complex Manager Tom Urban, along with Lauren Lawson, PCA, Barbara Grass, Account Executive, and others at the branch have put their creativity into action.

Over the past year, the Stuart branch has held nine client events and given back to their local community in many meaningful ways. Their actions have not only benefited their clients and the community, but have also increased the branch’s sense of being a team.

They’ve had tremendous success with their Valentine’s luncheon where they recognize their single and widowed female clients and their friends; and their annual client holiday party, which welcomes hundreds of people, offers financial education and insights, and is their most popular and requested event. These celebrations are additive to the numerous internal, branch-focused appreciation events and the philanthropy efforts the Stuart branch team members conduct annually. Currently, the branch has 18 employees who are active volunteers with more than 20 organizations, demonstrating their dedication to making a difference.

This year, the branch made an impact by offering clients tickets to the Stuart Stroll, a fall event that local businesses participate in and residents enjoy. To receive a ticket to this fun event, the Stuart branch asked clients to bring food items to donate to House of Hope food pantry. The branch and its clients helped to fight hunger and hardship in Martin County, Florida by providing nearly 250 pounds of food, which is the equivalent of 60 meals, for those in need. Clients were able to have fun walking down Main Street and enjoy the promotions of local businesses, while the branch was able to give back to the community and help prevent hunger.

“We build comradery in our branch through our events, which have come a long way and have made our clients feel appreciated. It’s up to us to get our name out there and show our community what a great firm this is,” said Lauren Lawson. Barbara Grass commented, “We use that same reasoning when creating events for both our current and prospective clients. We ask ourselves – will the event be fun for them and is it something they will talk about with their friends? We rely on word of mouth to be successful.”

Tom Urban said, “Lauren and Barbara have done a great job bringing new and interesting ideas to our branch, which have proven to be very successful. We are focused on allowing people to use their strengths and talents to benefit our clients, our branch, and the community. They make each year’s event better than the last by adding something new and creative, and clients appreciate that.”

Barbara said, “Janney has a personable culture that is hands-on and client-friendly, which makes me feel supported to go out of my way for our clients.” Lauren continued, “We treat our clients like our family and communicate with them often. We’re happy to do whatever we can for them.”
